Fluorosilicone

Major advantages and limitations of

Fluorosilicone (Fluoro-Vinyl Silane):

Major Advantages
  • Broad Chemical Resistance: Demonstrates high resistance to a wide range of substances, including:
    • Alcohol and alkalis.
    • Synthetic lubricants and silicate hydraulic fluids.
    • Oxidation and ozone.
  • Environmental Durability: Highly resistant to flame and extreme weather conditions.
  • Temperature Adaptability: Specifically suited for use in temperature extremes.
  • Electrical Compatibility: Demonstrates a ready adaptability for use with electricity.
  • Versatile Fabrication:
    • Can be produced in a durometer range of 40 to 80 Shore A.
    • Can be molded into parts, extruded into profiles, or calendared into sheets.
Limitations
  • Fluid Restrictions: Not recommended for use with phosphate hydraulic fluids.
  • Mechanical Constraints: Not suitable for environments that subject the component to excessive mechanical stresses.
